In 2024 St. Kilian’s Relics along with those of his companions Kolonat and Totnan returned to Mullagh for the first time in over 1300 years. Events held to mark this occasion are remembered

St. Kilian’s Way A walk to celebrate the arrival of the sacred relics of St. Kilian was held on Saturday, September 28th where participants could enjoy the landscape that St. Kilian would have enjoyed in his youth.

Official Welcome and Procession
The people of the parish of Mullagh received the sacred relics of St. Kilian and his companions at St. Kilian’s Well and welcomed pilgrims from the diocese of Würzburg.
The people processed from the Well, with St. Kilian’s relics to St. Kilian’s Church for a liturgy marking the official welcome of the relics home.
Members of Millrace Drama Group enacted Kilian’s arrival in Mullagh and joined the procession to the church.

Mass was celebrated at dawn, by Fr. Paul Prior, to mark the end of the all-night vigil.

The Children of Mullagh Told the Story of St. Kilian Primary School Children from the St. Kilian Pastoral Area visited Mullagh where local children told the story of St. Kilian’s life through music, song and dance

The sacred relics of St. Kilian and his companions were processed from Edwin Carolan Park to St. Kilian’s Church by the clubs, groups and organisations of the parish.
